Pierson Keating

Primarily a pianist, Keating has been in love with the piano since the age of eight. At West Virginia University, he studied under Dr. James Miltenberger, a well-respected classical and jazz piano instructor and performer of Appalachia.

There, fascinated by both the spontaneity and the pre-meditation of music, he was a jazz and composition double major, studying composition under Dr. John Beall. He continued his exploration of the musical creative process at the University of Louisville, studying under jazz piano instructor Jim Connerley as well as composition instructor Steve Rouse, two mentors who opened his eyes to the possibilities of what good music is capable of.

In June of 2012 he relocated to Nashville, TN, and played with songwriter David Oakleaf’s band. There, also, he was mentored by established songwriter Dave Pahanish. He has since been active in virtually every form of piano performance, from upscale jazz to Dueling Pianos. In early 2017 he embarked on the cruise vessel Oosterdam for Holland America’s new Billboard Onboard venue, on which he is still occasionally featured.

He is now a resident of Austin, Texas, where he brings his distinct brand of consummate entertainment to elite events, weddings, and some of the finest restaurants, hotels, and resorts in the city.
